The air sector in Latin America is growing in terms of passenger volume: 28.7 million passengers till July 2019, 4.5% up from 2018. Countries with the largest volumes are Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Peru and Panama. It is estimated that the airport sector in the region should invest 55 billion dollars by 2040. These investments will focus on airport infrastructure, such as the expansion, remodeling and modernization of existing facilities and the construction of new airports. Colombia is ranked 4th globally in terms of projection in air sector growth for the next 20 years. The country`s airport sector is expected to contribute heavily to the connectivity boost that the government needs to work on.
The 8th Latin American Airport and Aviation Expansion Summit will bring together government officials, investors, civil aviation authorities, airlines, airports, airport management groups and ground assistance companies, companies of MRO and FBO to discuss with consultants, integrators, distributors, architects, EPCs, equipment suppliers and banks, to improve the aviation and airport sector in Latin America, and find new business partners.
